Reason and Prerequisites
The components Controlling (CO) and Funds Management (FI-FM/FM) are used at the same time.

Solution
Due to the differences in approach, it is not possible to reconcile the values from the components CO and FI-FM.
Because of the different requirements for internal cost control and budgetary control, the update of the actual data and commitment data is considerably different in CO and FM.

To approximate the update of the actual data and commitment data in FM to that in CO, make the following settings in FM:


I. In the master data area:
1. Structure of commitment items same as structure of cost elements
2. Structure of funds centers same as structure of cost centers

II. In the update area (*):

1. Update of the purchase order for delivery date (update profile 102)
2. Update of the invoice for posting date (update profile 102)
3. Update of the parked invoices:
In the CO System, parked invoices are only updated as of Release 4.6A. Therefore the update into the Funds Management must be suppressed up to and including Release 4.0B (Note 60411). In Release 4.5B it must occur statistically. As of 4.6A it must occur really.

4. Update at time of 'Goods receipt' (IMG Transaction 'OFUP')
5. Update of postings for goods issue (IMG Transaction 'OFUP')
6. No tax display (IMG Transaction 'OFUP')
7. No display of payments (update profile 102)
8. Update of depreciations (Note 119443)
9. No update of asset acquisitions (via transaction type)

Up to Release 4.5, you can carry out most of the settings for updating in Customizing Transaction OFUP.
As of Release 4.5, some of these settings (1, 2 and 7) are contained in the update profiles.
For the most part, update profile 102 corresponds to these settings.You only need to change the period control for value type 51 (purchase order) to 'Delivery date' (IMG Transaction OF36 'Override update profile').


The system checks the settings for updating if you determine the business transactions for CO posting integration in Customizing of Funds Management.
If the system ascertains differences from the settings listed above, then it displys warning message U2040.
