Почему-то нигде в материалах не было инструкции запустить скрипт по созданию БД.
Когда я понял что мое приложение не работает я увидел что у меня дажы нет базы данных Northwind.

Решилось запуском одного из скриптов из одноименного архива.

Вопрос почему такие базовые вещи нигде не описаны. Мы должны сами догадываться?

10. Now open the script instnwnd.sql in SSMSE. Execute this script to create the Northwind database. This process may take a few moments to complete.
11. Once this database has been created, open the script CreateNorthwindExtensionsAE.sql. Execute this script in SSMSE against the newly created Northwind database. This script makes additional modifications to the database to support the functionality to be implemented in the Mobile Northwind application.
